Upscale Hotel Development in the Far North of Myanmar
30-September-2004

Myanmar will soon see an upscale mountain lodge close to Putao in the far north of Myanmar.

The project has been under construction since the beginning of 2004 and will open in October 2005. A twice weekly charter flight from Mandalay or Bagan will give guests access to this remote area, which so far is only served by flights of Myanma Airways four times a week.

The Lodge with 10 Bungalows, each 65 sqm large, lies along a ridge over the Nam Lang River with beautiful views over the rice terraces towards the snow caped mountains. The individual bungalows which are set on stilts will feature each a central fireplace next to the bed and an open bathtub as well as a separate shower.

The spa is planed to be in a Japanese-style building with a few treatment rooms.
