1st day: Arrival in Yangon
We will welcome you directly at Yangon International Airport and transfer you to your designated hotel in the city.
Since 1885 when Mandalay's short period as the center of the last Burmese Kingdom ended, Yangon is the capital of Myanmar. The city, today with a population of over five million, is lined by the Yangon River on the west and the Bago River on the south. Yangon gives a different impression from other Asian cities of similar size and it seems full of green and trees over which tops the shimmering stupas float. The Downtown area features still a lot of old and large colonial buildings left over from the former British times.
In the afternoon you will visit Yangon’s most revered monument, the glittering Shwe Dagon Pagoda, which is over 2500 years old.

2nd day: Yangon
After breakfast in the morning we will start for a full day Yangon sightseeing tour. First through Yangon’s colonial heart, visiting the famous Bogyoke Market (also named Scott Market) and the gilded Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2000 years, as well as the Botataung Pagoda, near Yangon’s bustling waterfront. On the way to the Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha, you will get a glimpse of the Shwe Dagon Pagoda, reflected in the calm waters of Kandawgyi Lake.
3rd day: GOLDEN ROCK
Early in the morning you will leave by car to Bago and proceed directly to the Kimon Base Camp from where you reach the top of Kyaikhtiyo Mountain by truck. After enjoying the sunset and the lighting of candles by the many pilgrims around the pagoda you will stay overnight close to the mountain top.

4th day: BAGO
The sunrise on the famous "Golden Rock", a big boulder covered all in gold is a beautiful moment, which should not be missed. After breakfast we will head out back to Yangon with a stop in the old Mon city Bago. Here is next to different pagodas the Shwethalyaung Buddha the most interesting sight. It is a huge reclining Buddha, which is reported to be one of the most lifelike of all reclining Buddhas.
In the evening we will reach your hotel in Yangon.

5th day: PYAY
From Yangon we drive to Pyay, located on a sharp bend of the Ayeyarwaddy River. Close to the formerly named Sri Ksetra we will visit the ruins the of the old Pyu-Capital of Thayekhittaya, which has been the center of the most intensive archaeological work in Myanmar this century. A nice stop on the way is, the Shwe Myat Hman, a large Buddha image with golden glasses, shortly before Pyay.

6th day: MOUNT POPA
This day we will continue the trip through middle Burma towards Bagan, where we will stop at Mount Popa, the "flower mountain". 777 steep stairs climb to the 737m high summit of an extinct volcano clustered with pagodas and small temples and offering fantastic views. After descending the mountain, we will have the chance to view the abode of Myanmar's most powerful nats (sacred spirits) from a distance with a drink at the bar of the Popa Mountain Resort.

7th day: BAGAN
Bagan is Myanmar’s greatest wonder; this ancient deserted city alongside the Ayeyarwaddy River is home to over 2000 temples and pagodas covering an area of around 40 square km. This world-heritage site is one of Asia’s most important and remarkable archaeological sites, and represents the spiritual heritage of ancient Burma.
After breakfast in the morning, sightseeing of the Bagan plain firstly to the Shwe Zi Gon Pagoda and its magnificent stupa, Kyan-Sit-Thar Umin, a cave temple served as monastery and features a few small rooms, which were home to monks, Gu-byauk-gyi, 13th century temple showing scenes of the jatakas(stories of Buddha’s life), Htilo-Minlo, a massive complex and it features traces of old murals, original fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations and to the Ananda Temple, one of the finest, largest, best preserved and most revered of the Bagan Temples with four large wooden Buddha figures, two of them appear to change their expression the closer you get. After lunch break in the afternoon visit Dhammayangyi Temple, resembles a pyramid from the side and noted for its remarkable brickwork and Dhamma-ya-za-ka pagoda, pagoda and temple style with stucco, stone sculptures and carvings.
In the evening enjoy the sunset from Mingalar Zedi or Shwe San Daw Pagoda.

8th day: BOAT CRUISE on AYEYARWADDY RIVER
In the morning we will bring you to the jetty for the embarkation of the boat to Mandalay. You cruise upwards the famous Ayeyarwaddy River. On the way the boat will stop at charming rural villages, which are examples of a typical river community, for a small visiting tour. You will also pass the confluence of the Ayeyarwaddy and the Chindwin River in the afternoon.

9th day: AYEYARWADDY RIVER
In the morning you will visit Yandabo, a village only accessible by river. Dependant on the riverine economy, this village is famous for the production of terracotta pottery.
In the afternoon you will continue your cruise to Mandalay.

10th day: ANCIENT CITIES
In the morning the boat will reach Mandalay, the last capital of the Burmese kingdom and Myanmar’s second largest city. Upon arrival our local tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel.
We will leave from Mandalay by car and stop at Shwe Kyet Yet Village for a beautiful view across the Ayeyarwaddy River on to the Sagaing Hill, bathed in the morning sun. In Ava we will visit ancient sights including the Baga Yar Monastery, which is made entirely of teakwood and supported by 267 teak posts and Nanmyin, a 27m-high masonry watchtower, the only remains of the ancient palace. Transportation is in Ava is by horse and cart. From Ava we will cross the Ava Bridge a British-engineered 16 span bridge from 1934 to reach Sagaing Hill with the Umin Thounzeh (30 caves pagoda) and Soon U Ponya Shin Paya, both of which offers outstanding views over the Sagaing Hill, dotted with pagodas. On the way back to Mandalay we will stop for another beautiful sunset in Amarapura and stroll over U Bein's Bridge, the longest teak span bridge in the world (1.2km).

11st day: MINGUN
Across the Ayeyarwaddy River by a short fascinating boat ride is Mingun, home to the world largest bell and the earthquake ravaged base of an unfinished pagoda, which would have been the tallest in the world. This will take half a day and you can enjoy the afternoon at your own leisure.
Overnight in Mandalay.
12th day: MANDALAY
Today you will have a full day for sightseeing in the city of Mandalay, which includes Mahar Muni Pagoda, Shwe Inbin Monastery, Royal Palace, Shwe Nang Daw Kyaung and Kuthodaw Pagoda. Depending on the time you will spend at each side, you may can extend your excursion to handicrafts centers with wood carving, marble carving, Bronze foundries, Gold-leaf making and silk weaving. Mandalay Hill is a must we and can be visited all day, but enjoying the sunset from the Pagoda on top of the hill is always a nice ending of the day with a fascinating view over the Ayeyarwaddy River.

13th day: Mandalay - Pindaya
Today is a day-drive from the lower Plains of Myanmar up to the Shan-Mountains to Pindaya, a peaceful little town, famous for its caves with over 8000 Buddha images made from alabaster, teak, marble, brick, lacquer and cement within its labyrinths. The caves burrow into a limestone ridge overlooking Pindaya and the towns’ lake. Unusual features in the caves are a set of stalagmites that can be struck with large wooden beams to produce tones like a gong.

14th day: PINDAYA
In the morning visit of the famous Pindaya caves with its 8000 Buddha Statues. And a visit to an Umbrella Factory gives a detailed look into the making of the famous Shan paper and beautiful Burmese umbrellas.
In the afternoon, we will drive around two and half hours to Nyaung Shwe, where we will take the boat to the hotel on Inle Lake.

15th day: INLE LAKE
Inle Lake is a very shallow lake, only 2 to 3 m deep, surrounded by high plateaus and overlooked by the misty Shan mountains. It is home to the Intha people, among others, who have adapted to their watery environment by building whole villages rising in stilts from the shallow waters. Lake dwellers have become famed for their unique leg rowing technique, and grow an array of flowers and vegetables in picturesque floating gardens and fields, tended by workers in canoes. Inle Lake is 22 km long, about 11 km wide and lies a comfortable 875m above sea level.
In the morning we start the sightseeing on the lake by boat with a visit to the floating village Ywama, where a floating market is held every five days. You will visit handicraft workshop like gold and sliver smiting. Indaing Village, half way along the western side of the lake, is very interesting due to its 1094 stupas surrounding the main Pagoda, Indaing Pagoda, which is the original home of the five famous Phaung Daw U Buddha images of Inle Lake. Phaung Daw U Pagoda is the holiest religious site in the southern area of the Shan State. You will also visit Inbawkhone village to see silk weaving and the famous Nga Phe Monastery, also called the jumping cat monastery, since the monks have trained their cats to jump through hoops. The different ancient Buddha images inside make this monastery a worthwhile stop.

16th day: NGAPALI BEACH
In the morning you can visit Khaung Daing village, which is famous for making of rice crackers, tofu snacks and fried beans, before you be brought to the airport in Heho for the flight to Thandwe(Ngapali). In Thandwe you will be welcomed by the hotel staff and transferred to the hotel on the beach.
Day 16 to Day 19: Leisure at the Beach
Snorkeling, wind surfing, fishing, golf, visit to the local market in Thandwe, early morning trips to view the sunrise above Thandwe or the nearby St. Andrews Bay, boat trips to different islands, all these is available via the reception of some of the resorts in Ngapali.

19th day: Flight back to Yangon
In the afternoon you will be brought to Thandwe Airport and fly back to Yangon. We will bring you to your hotel in Yangon for a last night in the Golden City.

20th day: Departure from Myanmar
In the morning or afternoon depending on your international flight time, transfer to Yangon International airport for the departure from Myanmar.
